The Loss of Fr. Fete

Today our family went to the wake of our pastor - Fr. Kevin Fete (pronounced the same as fate). He was a young man at 48 and his death has effected our entire family as well as the families of our entire parish profoundly. He was diagnosed with metastecized cancer of the kidney on June 7th of this year.

Please pray for him, his family, friends, and our entire parish community.

May the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace.

  • I knew Father Kevin Fete since 1983, and I still can't believe that he is gone. I get through the days by thinking about the good memories of him. His memory will never leave our hearts, minds or souls.

  • He was my uncle, and a little over a year later, it is not any easier.
    I miss him.
    God rest his soul.

  • I am so blessed to have been praying to Fr. Fete, eventhough I never knew him. I've been also very blessed to have been corresponding with Fr. Kevin's mom, Dorothy. She even sent me a bright "cardinal red" sock, which I wear now every night, as I pray for a priest friend, Fr. G. who also was a good friend of Fr.Kevin's. I can't wait to finally meet Fr. Kevin, hopefully as I cross the other side of the veil where he now is, beholding the Lord Jesus in the fullness of glory! Fr. Kevin is missed, and the pain of loss is great, however, he's still very near. We just need to "see with different eyes" and speak in a different way now with our loved ones, who are on the other side, praying and cheering us on to 'cross the line' at the end of our lives. God bless Fr. Kevin and god rest his holy, priestly soul! Amen.

Fr. Kevin is the "patron saint" of our group here in Omaha for reverts and converts. I've written about him in a post titled "About Fr. Fete," Dec. 2006
Also, on the link list, at the top, is where you can read about him as our Patron Saint to help bring others into the fullness of Truth as he was known so widely for in the diocese of Youngstown. Fr. Kevin, pray for us and for others who will still be brought to Christ all over the globe, by your prayers and faithful intercession!
